Buzz: Vetrimaran's Viduthalai 2 eyeing for this release date!

Viduthalai 2, the much-awaited sequel to the blockbuster political thriller Viduthalai, has been delayed once again. The film, which stars Vijay Sethupathi as a revolutionary leader and Soori as a cop, was initially slated to release in the second half of 2023. However, due to the extension of the shooting schedule, the film may get postponed more.

Viduthalai Part 1, which was released on March 31, 2023, received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike for its hard-hitting portrayal of caste politics and police brutality. The first film ended on a cliffhanger, leaving fans eager for the second part. The character arcs of Vijay Sethupathi and Soori will undergo a major change in the sequel.

The makers of Viduthalai Part 2 had earlier planned to release the film on January 26, 2024, coinciding with Republic Day. But the latest buzz is that Viduthalai 2 will not be released on the planned date and will be postponed to Summer 2024.

The reason for this delay is said to be the pending portions of the film, which include some crucial scenes and songs. The team is also working on the post-production and VFX of the film, which is expected to be a visual treat for the fans.

Viduthalai 2 is directed by Vetrimaaran, who is known for his realistic and hard-hitting films. The film is produced by Elred Kumar under the banner of RS Infotainment. The film, which stars Vijay Sethupathi as the leader of a rebel group and Soori as a police constable,  Prakash Raj, who plays a pivotal role in the film, will also join the action.

Viduthalai 2 is one of the most anticipated films of 2024, as it promises to be a gripping and thrilling saga of politics, power, and revolution. The film is based on the novel of the same name by writer Jeyamohan, who has also penned the dialogues for the film.  The film has music by Ilaiyaraaja and cinematography by Velraj. Viduthalai Part 2 is expected to be a grand spectacle with a whopping budget.

The film also boasts an ensemble cast that includes Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajeev Menon and Chethan. The stunt choreographer Peter Hein has roped in a team of proficient stuntmen from Bulgaria to execute the action scenes.
