According to a survey conducted by Ormax Media, the show has broken records as India's most-watched web series ever with viewership of 37.1 million. This incredible achievement is a testament to the show’s popularity and the talent of its cast and crew.
Shahid Kapoor took to Instagram to share the news with his followers and express his gratitude for the show’s success. In a post that revealed the data and details of the achievement, he wrote "Farzi Fever…THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH." The post was met with an outpouring of love and support from fans, who congratulated Shahid and the rest of the Farzi team on their incredible accomplishment. Raj and DK has also shared a post which read, "Thank you all... for all the love!!"
According to a report by Ormax Media, Farzi ranked first among the original SVOD (Subscription Video on Demand) series that Indian viewers watched the most this week. It surpassed popular television programmes such as Ajay Devgn's Rudra (35.2 million viewers), Pankaj Tripathi's Mirzapur season 2 (32.5 million viewers), Jeetendra Kumar's Panchayat 2 (29.6 million viewers), Pankaj Tripathi's series Criminal Justice (29.1 million viewers), and Aditya Roy Kapur's The Night Manager (27.2 million viewers).
Farzi is an black comedy crime thriller about an artist who gets sucked into the high-stakes world of a con job and the irate task force officer who sets out to rid the country of his threats. In the series, the protagonist, Sunny, is an artist who becomes disillusioned with India's income disparity after he is unable to maintain the success of his grandfather's revolutionary printing press.The two become partners in producing fake currency. They're up against gangster Mansoor and cop Michael.
Produced and directed by The Family Man fame Raj & DK. It stars Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi, Kay Kay Menon, Raashii Khanna and Bhuvan Arora. The series shares continuity with Raj & DK’s spy series The Family Man. Initially conceived as a film in 2014, The makers decided to expand it to television series by 2019. The eight-episode series was released on Amazon Prime Video on February 10, 2023.The lead actors also have confirmed recently that the second season of the series will be made.
