Filmfare Awards South 2022 Nominations: Jai Bhim, Mandela tops the list!

The South segment of the annual Filmfare Awards, which is granted out by the Tata Group's Filmfare Magazine, is recognized as the Filmfare Awards South event. It is the most prestigious awards ceremony that honors professionals in the Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada film industries for their artistic and technical excellence. 

The Times Group's Filmfare magazine first announced the awards in 1954. The 65th Filmfare Awards ceremony took place on February 16, 2020, at Guwahati's Sarusajai Stadium, and the 67th annual Filmfare Awards South will take place in Bangalore on October 9, 2022, at the Bangalore International Exhibition Center. The ceremony, which embodies elegance, glitz, and vitality, honored excellence in films that were released in 2021 in the 3 major categories – Popular, Critic, and Technical.

The Tamil nominations for 'Best Film' category were, JAI BHIM, KA PAE RANASINGAM, KANNUM KANNUM KOLLAIYADITHAAL, KARNAN, MANDELA, SARPATTA PARAMBARAI, SOORARAI POTTRU.

For the 'Best Director category, Desingh Periyasamy (KANNUM KANNUM KOLLAIYADITHAAL) ,Madonne Ashwin (MANDELA), Mari Selvaraj (KARNAN), P Virumndi (KA PAE RANASINGAM), PA. Ranjith (SARPATTA PARAMBARAI) ,Sudha Kongara (SOORARAI POTTRU), TJ Gnanavel (JAI BHIM), were placed on the list.

Arya, Ashok Selvan, Dhanush, Dulquer Salmaan, Manikandan K, Suriya were selected for the 'Best Actor category, while Aishwarya Rajesh, Aparna Balamurali, Dushara Vijaya, Jyothika, Lijomol Jose nominated for the female leads.
