'Ka Pae Ranasingam' faces fresh trouble from Vijay Sethupathi's hometown - See what happened!

Vijay Sethupathi starred 'Ka Pae Ranasingam' movie has been surfaced with fresh troubles within a week of its release as the recent developments have been irking the entire team both on the financial and entertainment corridors. 

When the movie was released on the Zee Plex OTT platform on October 2, the first shock for the movie team has come through the piracy as within two hours of the release on the platform, it was pirated by Tamil Rockers and the piracy site had uploaded links to high definition quality version of the film along with subtitles, which stunned the fans of Vijay Sethupathi, as the development has shown piracy would be never-ending amid strong campaigns and efforts by the movie industry to curb such illegalities. 

The movie was pirated when the producer of the movie asserted that they had a strong anti-piracy team with the view of ensuring that piracy won't happen and he stated the movie is acquiring the court orders applicable to the entire country to take down any piracy websites that leak the movie illegally. 

Even as the movie team has been trying to fix the grounds of piracy, it has now been braced up to witness another shock from Vijay Sethupathi's hometown of Rajapalayam, Virudhunagar, in Tamil Nadu. According to reports, while Tamil Rockers went on to leak the movie from behind the screens, the local television channel in Rajapalayam had done it publicly by pasting the posters of informing about telecasting the movie on its channel. 

The TV channel had publicized and circulated the information through posters and said that it would be releasing the movie on its channel on October 3 and as per the announcement, it had released the movie on its television channel across the city. After knowing the shocking development, the fans of Vijay Sethupathi in the city had reached out to the production team and alerted them that the local channel had released the movie on October 3. 

With such an unprecedented reception, movie's director Virumandi and one of the crew members Shanmugam Muthusamy had reached Rajapalayam and initiated legal proceedings against the local television channel. Following the legal drive, the office of the local channel 'Vaima', which released the movie, was raided and the officials had recovered computers and other technical devices from the office. 

However, the reports say that Tirupathy Selvan, who runs the channel and an educational institution in the city, has been absconding. While addressing the reporters, Shanmugam Muthusamy said that the production team had planned the movie for the theatrical release. However, in the wake of the lockdown, it opted for the OTT platform and the movie was released amid lot of efforts and financial burdens and the movie was packed with lot of hardworks from technicians and it has reached the hands of people amid the grounds of challenges. 

By expressing the distress over piracy and illegal release, Muthusamy stated that these irregularities are causing trouble for the efforts put by the technicians and are causing challenges in releasing the movie. He appealed the people not to render support to such pirates as many depend on the income from the movie to win the bread. Even director and producer of the movie depend on it to have good financial and commercial outcome. He pressed everyone not to support piracy.

The duo had added that they hope that the police will take action against the responsible who released the movie on the television and Muthusamy further appealed to the people to watch the movie on the OTT platform through paying the cost. According to reports, Ka Pae Ranasingam is the first film in India to premiere on a pay-per-view. The movie is priced at Rs 199 per view and it can be watched either using the DTH device or using the Zee Plex application.
