Samantha's Shaakuntalam trailer is here! Don't miss the whimsical love tale in this epic drama

Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the south's leading lady, is about to embark on her first epic drama project in this year. On Monday, the production house unveiled the trailer, and it is a feast for the eyes. Gunasekhar, known for his work with Anushka Shetty in Rudramadevi, wrote and directed the film. Dev Mohan also appears in the film in the role of Dushyanta, king of the Puru dynasty.

The Shakuntalam trailer launch was held on Monday, and Samantha, who had been distant for a while due to illness, was among the attendees. Samantha broke into tears as she was discussing the film and how it made her feel about herself, as her eyes gleamed up with tears, where the video is quickly becoming a social media sensation.

Addressing the media, she stated, "I have faced many struggles in life, but one thing that has remained constant is how much I love cinema and how much cinema loves me back. I think that with Shaakuntalam, this love will only continue to grow." Dil Raju's film banner Sri Venkateswara Creations bankrolling the periodic drama.

Samantha plays Shaakuntala, the protagonist, and she fights for her love, Dushyanta, in the two-minute-plus trailer. The trailer also shown Gautami, Sachin, Prakash Raj in crucial roles. Interestingly, the film featured Allu Arha, the daughter of actor Allu Arjun plays the pivotal role, which marks her debut in the film.

Shakuntala and King Dushyant, played by Samantha and Dev Mohan, are at the centre of the epic love story that drives "Shaakuntalam." Shaakunthalam will have a pan-Indian release, with versions in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The Sanskrit play Shakunthala by Kalidsa dramatises the story of Sakunthala from the epic Mahbhrata and is widely considered to be among the greatest works ever written. The city of Hastinapur, the state of Kashmir, and the Himalayan Mountains of Northern India serve as the backdrop for this eagerly awaited adaptation.

The movie also stars Mohan Babu, Aditi Balan, Prakash Raj, Gautami, Madhoo, Jisshu Sengupta, and Kabir Bedi among others.The film's original November 4, 2016 release date was pushed back due to the time and effort required to turn the film to 3D.
