The decision from the party has come at a high time when the ADMK needs to address important issues from VK Sasikala's political comeback to responding to the issues within the party. 

The party's leadership has directed the party leaders and cadres not to exercise contact with the expelled members. 

His comments had invited flak from the BJP and PMK leaders as the allied parties are engaging in a fight even after two months of facing a debacle. 

Besides Vijila Sathyanath, former leaders of Makkal Needhi Maiam R Mahendran and Padma Priya had also joined the DMK.

After the tensions had escalated, senior ADMK leader D Jayakumar had maintained that Shanmugam's remarks are his personal and they don't have anything to do with ADMK.

Sasikala has revealed her plan of how she is structuring to make a political resurgence amid barricades put up the current leaders.

Shanmugam had served as the Minister for Law and Prisons in Edappadi Palaniswami's cabinet in the previous ADMK regime.

On the other hand, the ADMK would pile up its troubles from addressing Sasikala's political comeback and accommodating the allied parties. 

Nearly three weeks after filing the complaint, the Roshanai police have on Tuesday booked a case against Sasikala and 500 unidentified persons.

He was lodged in the Saidapet prison and on Tuesday, he was shifted to Puzhal Central Prison. The sudden shifting has come three days ahead of the completion of his judicial custody.
