The Erode East bypoll has been scheduled to be held on February 7 and the last date to file the nomination papers is February 7.

Her remarks have come when EPS and OPS are preparing to cross swords in the electoral battle in the upcoming Erode East bypoll. 

DMK's ally Congress has fielded former Union Minister EVKS Elangovan as its candidate. Elangovan is the father of deceased Congress MLA Thirumahan Everaa, whose demise earlier last month had necessitated the bypoll.

The political infight between these two leaders have put ADMK in chaos and as they prepare to fight against each other in the bypoll, the ADMK cadres are left in a lurch over the first electoral battle between both the leaders.

44-year-old Roja Ramesh has been serving as an ADMK's ward councillor in Gummidipoondi panchayat in the Tiruvallur district.

On the other hand, EPS has recently approached the Supreme Court and sought a directive to the Election Commission of India to allocate the party's 'Two leaves' symbol to him.

Their rivalry has now sparked a battle for ADMK's trademark 'Two leaves' symbol ahead of the Erode East bypoll and it's certain that whoever wins the battle would possibly enjoy the symbol in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Based on a complaint from councillor's husband, the police registered a case and former four special teams to locate the missing mother and son. 

Despite changing his affiliations to several Dravidian parties in the state, Sampath is well known for his public speaking and being a staunch Dravidian ideologist. 

The DMK alliance is much ahead of rest of the parties as it has launched the campaign and announced Congress leader and former Union Minister EVKS Elangovan, the father of deceased MLA Thirumahan, as its candidate.
