The World Health Organization (WHO) has on Wednesday said that India has accounted for nearly half of the COVID-19 cases reported worldwide last week.

The grand old party has also demanded the government to provide monthly income support to the people who will be affected and facing a distressed economy in the wake of the lockdowns and restrictions.

By highlighting that the state has a heavy caseload with over 1.20 lakh active COVID-19 cases, the government said that the curbs are unavoidable.

On Thursday, the health authorities revealed which are the districts that have a high positivity rate, contributing to the surge in the state's total caseload.  

The BJP members have now lined up and begun attacking and threatening the actor as a prospect to show their allegiance to the party.

On Wednesday, Tamil Nadu has reported 16,665 fresh COVID-19 cases which had become the state's highest single-day rise since the outbreak began.

The counsel representing Mansoor Ali Khan had said that the statement made by the actor at the entrance of the private hospital was due to an emotional outburst and was never intended to hurt anyone.

Remdesivir did not reduce the need for mechanical ventilation among those suffering from a severe case of the COVID-19 viral infection and it neither helps in reducing mortality. 

The recent incident of booking a case against Yadav had shown that Yogi's government is not even ready to tolerate a single tweet that speaks about the shortage and need for oxygen. 

The Central government has been mulling to impose the lockdown in around 150 districts from May as its measure to break the chain of transmission.
