Earlier, key world leaders including US President Donald Trump, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro had tested positive for the viral infection.

Union Health Ministry has said that Covaxin is a two-dose vaccine and that  Anil Vij was given only the first dose, which was administered to him two weeks before he tested positive for COVID-19.

IIT-M has reported 183 positive cases so far as of Tuesday in two weeks with more students contracted the virus, pushing the institute to shut down its operations.

While there were 104 COVID-19 cases as of Monday, IIT-M had witnessed 79 fresh cases on Tuesday, which had taken the total tally of 183 cases so far.
