The tragic incident has come when several political parties and social organizations were urging the state government to ban the online rummy, which has led to the death of several people. 

Citing that the investigations are completed, the hospital affirmed that MK Stalin is recovering well and is in good health.

ADMK's newly elected interim General Secretary EPS has directed a mass expulsion where he removed over a dozen of party functionaries in a single shot.

The hospital said, "Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru MK Stalin has been admitted at Kauvery Hospital, Alwarpet, Chennai for investigations and observation for Covid-related symptoms."

In his official statement, EPS has said that all these functionaries were expelled on the grounds of bringing disrepute to the party and for violating the party rules.

Several leaders, including Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi and ADMK's O Panneerselvam, have extended their wishes to the Chief Minister for a speedy recovery.  

Taking to social media, the Chief Minister wrote, "I have a fatigue today. After testing, it was confirmed that I have contracted Covid-19 and I have isolated."

The caught-on-the-tape episode has startled the EPS camp and exhibited the drama that's going on esoterically in the camp. 

Both the leaders have tested positive at a high time when Tamil Nadu has been witnessing a huge rise in daily Covid cases, triggering the possibilities of yet another wave.

Besides battling with OPS to stamp his label as the party's interim General Secretary, EPS has a handful of challenges ahead from all the corners.
