Director Vetrimaaran is all set to blow the minds with his upcoming period crime thriller, Viduthalai Part 1. He made fans in a frenzy of excitement at the trailer launch event on Wednesday by giving red hot deets on his prestigious projects Viduthalai. Produced jointly by RS Infotainment and Grassroot Film Company, Viduthalai boasts a stellar cast including the talented Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, Bhavani Sre, Prakash Raj, Gautham Menon, Chethan, and many more.
At the trailer launch event, director Vetrimaaran confirmed that Viduthalai part 1 will be hitting the screens at the end of March, and Viduthalai 2 will be out following in the second half of the year. And that's not all - after completing Vaadivasal, Vetrimaaran will be turning his attention to the highly-anticipated Vada Chennai 2.
For those unversed with the original film, Vada Chennai was a critically acclaimed crime thriller that explored the gritty underworld of Chennai. The film starred Dhanush, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Andrea Jeremiah, among others, and was hailed for its realistic portrayal of the city's criminal elements.
With Vada Chennai 2, it can be expected that Vetrimaaran will take things even further, diving deeper into the characters and their motivations. The film will once again be produced by Dhanush's Wunderbar Films, but whether Santhosh Narayanan will be returning as the composer is yet to be known. With Viduthalai set to hit screens in March, afterwards by Vaadivasal, and now the announcement of Vada Chennai 2, it's clear that the director has no shortage of exciting projects in the pipeline.
Viduthalai will be released on theatres by 31st March 2023. The music has done by Isaignani Ilayaraja, cinematography is done by R.Velraj, and the editing is handled by R. Ramar. while the stunts are choreographed by Peter Hein and Stun Siva. The distribution rights for Tamil Nadu were acquired by Red Giant Movies, while the digital rights of the film were acquired by ZEE5. The satellite rights of the film were acquired by Kalaignar TV.
