Lokesh Kanagaraj is recognising as a global icon in Kollywood thanks to his four features, all of which have been multi-starrer blockbuster hits, and his action-packed, dramatic storytelling. Now his third film in the LCU franchise, Leo, starring Vijay, will be released later this year. They began filming, and just recently, the announcement was made official.

As soon as this film was publicly disclosed, rumours began circulating that it would be set in the Lokesh Kanagaraj Universe. But after the film's writer posted a picture on social media that seemed to strongly hint at a cameo by Vijay Sethupathi as Santhanam from 'Vikram,' fans went wild with speculation.  Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi starred together in his directorial Master released back in 2021. Despite being released after Kaithi, it was not included in the so called Lokesh Universe.

With the caption "Never say die," Rathnakumar uploaded a new photo by taking us to Twitter in which he is holding a lens from a shattered piece of cooling glass. The identified lens is nearly identical to the one worn by Vijay Sethupathi in "Vikram," which will be shattered during  the senastional fight right before the interval.

If this is true,  after Master, Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi will collaborate for the second time. It remains unclear, however, whether this is an antagonistic role or merely a  side role, and this can be settled only by an official announcement. Starred by Vijay and Trisha in the lead, where Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan and Mysskin, Mathew Thomas plays pivotal roles.

Anirudh Ravichander to compose the music, Sony Music has acquired the audio license of Leo. Sun TV has acquired the satellite TV broadcasting license and the popular Netflix has acquired the OTT rights.  Manoj Paramahamsa handling the camera, Philomin Raj in charge of the edits, and stunt choreography handled by Anbariv. The film has been slated to hit theatres as Pan Indian actioner on 19th October 2023.
