"To win one is a dream, but to win two is...": Asuran Dhanush pens his first letter after winning the National Awards!

Dhanush has been adding more successful and remarkable feathers to his cap of cinema by bagging global recognition and prestigious awards, which had become the symbol of honoring his commitment, audacity, and perseverance in acting, regardless of how hard and painful the stage is. He has been etching a significant mark through his acting across all the industries. In line with that, Dhanush had added another feather to his cap as he has won the national award for the Best Actor in 2019 for Asuran and the movie has been conferred with the National Award for the Best Tamil film. 

The 67th National Film Awards for the movies that were released in 2019 were announced on Monday. The national event would normally be held on May 3rd of every year to honor the movies and artists who had done extraordinarily well in the preceding year. However, the event in the year 2020 was deferred a year in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak and the awards for the movies released in 2019 were announced on Monday and the awards had conferred the artists in different arenas across the country. 

The nation has been expecting the winner in the category of Best Film in 2019 and under the category, Dhanush starred 'Asuran' had been named as the Best Tamil Film. The bestowment had truly relished the Tamil cinema industry and the ardent Dhanush fans and audiences. Apart from the best film, Dhanush had individually received the award of Best Actor in 2019. The fans have been taking to social media and wishing Dhanush and the entire team of Asuran for bagging a prestigious national honor. The movie, which was directed by Vetrimaaran, was a blockbuster hit and given a crucial push to Dhanush in his cinematic career. 

Amid the sea of wishes, Dhanush has opened up about how he felt after knowing the honor. In an emotional letter that he released on Tuesday, he said, "I woke up to this amazing news of being honored with the prestigious national award for Asuran. To win one best actor award is a dream, to win Two is nothing short of a blessing, I never imagined I would come this far. There are a lot of people to thank, but just gonna state a few. As always, I thank my mother and father, my guru my brother first". 

"I thank Vetrimaaran for giving me 'Sivasaami'. Vetri, never thought when I met you at Balu Mahendra sir's office, that you would become a friend, companion, and a brother. I am so proud of the four films we have worked on together and the two films we have produced together. I am very glad you chose to believe in me so much and I chose to believe in you. Now, can't wait to hear what you have written for me next. A big hug", Dhanush penned. 

The Asuran actor stated, "I sincerely thank the National Award jury for this award. I thank my producer Thanu sir for all the support. I thank the entire Asuran team especially my family my dear Pachaiyamma Manju, my Chidambaram Ken, and my Murugan Teejay. Thank you, GV for "Vaa Asura", the blood bath song. My sincere thanks to the entire media, press, television channels, social media influencers for all the support and love for celebrating me with pride". 

He further penned, "Also I would like to thank my film fraternity friends who have taken the time out to wish me. And finally, I thank my fans, the pillars of my strength, its the unconditional love you all give me that keeps me going. Can't thank you enough. I love you all to the moon and back. Please spread love and nothing else. Ennam pol Vaazhkai". Wishes have been pouring in for Dhanush from across and beyond the borders.

Manju Warrier, who played the female lead in Asuran, took to Twitter and said, "You truly deserve this @dhanushkraja! So proud of you!". Several top and growing film fraternities have been commending Dhanush and the entire team of Asuran for getting conferred with the prestigious honor. Overall, the Tamil cinema industry has bagged seven awards across different categories. Apart from Best Actor and Best Film, R Parthiban's 'Oththa Seruppu Size 7' has won Special Jury Award, D Imman had won Best Music Direction for Viswasam, Resul Pookutty has won Best Audiography for Oththa Seruppu Size 7, Naga Vishal has won Best Child Artist for KD (a) Karuppu Durai, and Vijay Sethupathi has won the award of Best Supporting Actor for Super Deluxe.
