Edappadi Palaniswami has backtracked his decision and announced that the party's lone candidate in Karnataka would pull out from the contest, which would make ADMK come out of the race in Karnataka.

As the Election Commission has officially recongised EPS, it has seemingly become certain that the gates for the ADMK's leadership are closed for OPS.

The announcement has come days after the party has decided to refrain from fielding its candidates in Karnataka and to support BJP in the state. 

Four months after joining the DMK, he has now been awarded a top post to disseminate MK Stalin's leadership and his achievements.

EPS won a crucial legal battle on Tuesday - March 28 in the Madras High Court where he defeated his rival O Panneerselvam (OPS) by getting a verdict backing his political elevation of becoming ADMK's general secretary.

His statement has come amidst an exodus in the BJP unit where several functionary of the IT wing quit the party and join ADMK.
