The UAE would be observing a 40-day mourning period with flags flown at half-mast as of Friday and suspend work at all public and private sector entities for three days.

MK Stalin has toured Dubai and Abu Dhabi late last month where he had visited Dubai Expo, met investors, and interacted with the Tamil diaspora living in the United Arab Emirates.

His tour was planned in a way that he will directly reach New Delhi from Dubai on April 2 to accompany Chief Minister MK Stalin during the latter's Delhi visit. 

MK Stalin noted that his Dubai and Abu Dhabi visits were meant to remove the darkness spread by the ADMK regime for the past ten years. 

MK Stalin has been on the four-day Dubai tour, which has become his first overseas trip after taking the office of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. 

During the tour, MK Stalin will be meeting the UAE ministers and industrialists in Dubai and Abu Dhabi to attract investments for Tamil Nadu. 

He will be leaving Chennai on Thursday - March 24 for a four day Dubai tour where he will be attending various programmes.

Ilaiyaraaja has visited Dubai and after his concert, he paid a visit to AR Rahman's Firdaus musical studio in Dubai.

The Chief Minister will be accompanied by the ministers of the concerned departments and authorities and the arrangements for the tour are underway in a full swing.
