Kantara opened in theatres on September 30, 2022, to critical acclaim. Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Sapthami Gowda, and Pramod Shetty star in this film produced by Hombale Films of KGF fame.  

KGF Chapter 1 was the first Kannada film to rake in Rs 200 crore at the box-office, and the movie was produced by Hombale Films, where the second part bagged whopping around 1200 crores.

The actor's dialogue in the KGF Chapter 2 ‘Let me give you a piece of advice. Don't go to stand in his way sir," became very popular.

Director Suman Kumar, who previously worked on the script for the film Family Man, will make his directorial debut with this film.

Following the film's popularity and box office hit in Kannada, the producers announced that it would be dubbed in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam. The movie was released on October 14 (Hindi) and October 15 (Telugu & Tamil).
