Kamal Haasan's Makkal Needhi Maiam, Sarathkumar's Samathuva Makkal Katchi (SMK), and IJK had made the deal and agreed to contest in the assembly polls together.

In a surprise, Ponraj had raised many eyebrows after joining Kamal Haasan's party. On Wednesday, Kamal Haasan had introduced Ponraj at the party's event in Alwarpet, Chennai.

Sarathkumar has on Wednesday said that Makkal Needhi Maiam, Samathuva Makkal Katchi, and Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi have sealed an alliance. 

Recently, the general body of the party had chosen Kamal Haasan as the party's Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming polls.

Kamal Haasan drove to Rajinikanth's residence on Saturday, nearly two months after the superstar actor had closed his political gates by shockingly announcing that he will not enter politics. 

On Sunday, Kamal Haasan had informed the public through a statement that doctors had advised him to undergo a leg surgery as a follow-up of his previous surgery.

Leader of MNM Party, Actor KamalHasan has said he will retire for a while due to minor surgery on his leg. 

"Thank you to the Election Commission of India and to those who stood with us. Let the light keep spreading", Kamal Haasan added as his party has been hoping to have a political breakthrough.

Kamal Haasan has stated that he will also ask Rajinikanth to support him in the Assembly elections.

Kamal Haasan has on Monday unveiled the poll promises of his party and his promises have come when the Dravidian parties are still working out on their campaigns and election manifestos.
