As we reported, the OPS faction has announced that it will withdraw its candidate Senthil Murugan and said that it will campaign for the ADMK's 'Two leaves' symbol, which will be secured by EPS. 

As both EPS and OPS are battling for the party's 'Two Leaves' symbol, the recent developments display that OPS will likely withdraw his candidate from the race. 

The Erode East bypoll has been scheduled to be held on February 7 and the last date to file the nomination papers is February 7.

Their rivalry has now sparked a battle for ADMK's trademark 'Two leaves' symbol ahead of the Erode East bypoll and it's certain that whoever wins the battle would possibly enjoy the symbol in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

EPS and OPS would likely to contest in two different symbols and if that happens, we can witness an election without ADMK's Two leaves symbol on the ballot for the first time in several decades. 

Tensions unfolded in the assembly since the Governor began his address and the rivals EPS and OPS grabbed a sharp attention from across the state as they were seen together, in a hand reach.

Edappadi Palaniswami and the ADMK functionaries were staging a protest in Valluvar Kottam in Chennai for condemning what they called a murder of democracy in the state.

The latest order in favour of EPS has also bestowed the tag of legality on the ADMK's General Council meeting that was held on July 11.

While both the leaders are hoping to have support from their community, the latest trouble that Sasikala is facing would put OPS in a setback, again. 

The volunteer movement will not be split, despite anyone's attempts. Regime-like behavior has no place in a party. Everyone needs to come together, and party defectors must come back.
