According to the Union Health Ministry, India has reported 24,61,191 positive cases so far as of Friday morning 8 am of which 17,51,555 have been discharged, and 48,040 had died of the viral infection.

At the current state, with the death toll of 5,514, Tamil Nadu is the second state in India with the most number of COVID-19 deaths after Maharashtra, as per the data of the Union Health Ministry.

He is currently under observation by the team of experts from critical care and his haemodynamic and clinical parameters are being closely monitored.

The Chief Minister stated that people who are applying with the details of their Aadhaar card or ration card along with their phone numbers for inter-district travels for emergency and important purposes will be given with the e-pass immediately

The state has reported 5,146 fresh discharges through which the total tally of discharges currently stands at 2,61,459 so far - four times higher than the active COVID-19 cases.

In the order, the government has restricted the celebrations in public places and advised the people to celebrate in their homes by adhering to the safety protocols. 

Mathura district magistrate SR Mishra said that Mahant Nitya Gopaldas's condition is stable and he is being shifted to Medanta Hospital. 

On Tuesday evening, the hospital released the statement and said the former president hasn't shown any improvement and his health status has worsened.

According to the health department, through the current reporting of 119 deaths, Tamil Nadu has reported over a hundred single-day deaths for the tenth consecutive day.
