Karthi plays Vallavarayan Vandhiyathevan in the film, as a central character who garnered appreciating lauds for his perfectly twinning the role as per the original novel.

Kollywood is filled with an interesting buzz that Arvind Swamy will reunite with Rajinikanth in the latter's next project after his current one Jailer.

While Rajinikanth is on the outing with Nelson Dilipkumar for the movie 'Jailer', Shah Rukh Khan is being directed by Atlee in the movie 'Jawan', which is the director's debut movie in Bollywood. 

"I often wondered if Mani or I would create something akin to Ponniyin Selvan. I attempted but failed. But Mani has always had this dream. This movie will do well. And I'm happy to be a part of it," Kamal added.

As the news is surfacing across social media, the fans are awestruck by Rajinikanth's decision to work with a new and young director. 

As fans were excitedly counting on the update, Sun Pictures, which is bankrolling the movie, has released a poster that swiftly turned heads. 

Jailer is Rajinikanth's 169th movie and is bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under his banner Sun Pictures.

Rajinikanth is said to be playing the titular role of a jailer. Reports are rife that the film also features Aishwarya Rai and Shiva Rajkumar.

Notably, it is the first time that Rajinikanth has met Governor RN Ravi privately. The superstar said that the meeting with the Governor was a courtesy call.
