STR48 is the second directorial venture of Desingh Periasamy, who made a successful debut with the romantic thriller Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Ritu Varma.

The film has already created a lot of excitement among the fans as it will feature Simbu in a dual role of both the hero and the villain.

The film is expected to be a grand spectacle with a rich historical backdrop and a gripping storyline.

Kamal Haasan is also to be seen in director Nag Ashwin's mega-budget sci-fi film ‘Kalki 2898AD’, starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone.

The film is also expected to have a cameo appearance by Kamal Haasan himself, which will be a treat for the audience. 

The makers are yet to reveal the names of the actresses, but sources say that they are in talks with some of the top names in the industry.

The poster also had the tagline ‘Blood and Battle’, hinting at the genre and theme of the film.

The film is also a milestone for Kamal Haasan, as it is his 56th film as a producer under his banner Raaj Kamal Films International.

The film also marks the first collaboration between Silambarasan and Kamal Haasan, who is not only producing the film but also making a cameo appearance.

The actor is currently in London, undergoing rigorous training for his role in the film. He is expected to start shooting for the film in August.
