EPS has acquired more power with the backing of the General Council and the resolutions for his political elevation were passed in the meeting that was held in Chennai on Monday- July 11. 

The nail-biting verdict has come at around 9 am when the meeting has been scheduled at 9.15 am, with several ADMK cadres had arrived in the venue hall in Vanagaram, Chennai.
