Fondly called as 'Captain' by his millions of fans and followers, Vijayakanth's death has put them in an unabated shock and sorrow. 

The leader of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) party, Vijayakanth, has been hospitalized again on Tuesday night, sparking concerns over his health condition.

He has contested in several elections and has served as the Leader of the Opposition in the state assembly from 2011 to 2016. 

They also spoke to the chief doctor who was treating Vijayakanth and got a positive update on his status.

MIOT hospital issued an official statement stating that Vijayakanth's health condition has been unstable due to which he was put under pulmonary treatment and ventilator support.

According to a medical report released by Miot Hospital, where Vijayakanth is undergoing treatment, his health is improving but not stable.

His health condition has attracted the attention and sympathy of many people from the cinema and political circles, who have expressed their concern and support for the charismatic leader.

70-year-old Vijayakanth has long been suffering from severe health issues that made him to confine from the public light.

The DMK alliance is much ahead of rest of the parties as it has launched the campaign and announced Congress leader and former Union Minister EVKS Elangovan, the father of deceased MLA Thirumahan, as its candidate. 

With Vijayakanth's ill health, the party's internal crisis, plummeting base, and lack of strong leadership, DMDK is now turning heads as the people are watching over what's next for the party.
