The actor had made a comparison between Ilaiyaraaja and AR Rahman during which he said he doesn't know AR Rahman. Balakrishna went on to degrade India's highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna. 

The movie is based on Kalki's popular Tamil novel of the same name 'Ponniyin Selvan' and it features a prominent casting of the star icons of South India. 

If everything goes by the plan, the movie shooting will hit the floors in October and the preparations are underway to commence the shooting.

The nine stories will be directed by nine directors - Gautam Menon, Karthick Subbaraj, Vasanth, Priyadarshan, Bejoy Nambiar, Arvind Swami, Karthick Naren, Rathindran Prasad, and Sarjun KM.

The reports further say that Valimai's first look will be released on July 15, 2021, and with this update, the fans began to call this month Valimai's First Look month.
