Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami has said that the violence at the Washermenpet had instigated by the anti-social elements and stated the protests were rolled out without prior permission from the government.

The police action had turned the demonstrations into violence and it has instigated fierce protests across the state including Chennai, Trichy, Madurai, and Coimbatore.
