The film was originally to be produced by Suriya's 2D Productions, and more than 40 days of shooting had passed.

The project was announced earlier this year and earned a massive reception as Suriya has collaborated with one of his favourite directors. 

Recently, speaking at the Indian Panorama Feature Film Section at IFFI 53, producer Rajasekar has spilled the beans that the sequel to Jai Bhim is in the making. 

Speculating reporrts earlier suggest that the roles of Arathar, Venkatar, Mandangar, Mukattar, and Perumanathar appeared on the film's recently released motion poster would be the five characters Suriya will play. 

While the entire film fraternity is in shock, stars from Kollywood have been mourning the demise of the veteran Telugu actor.

Even though Hari is preoccupied with another project, reports claim that he has been simultaneously working on Singam 4. 

Suriya has visited the movie sets in Ernakulam, Kerala. Helmed by Jeo Baby, Kaathal: The Core began filming earlier in October.

Jai Bhim got released on November 2 last year on Amazon Prime Video and set a great breakthrough for Suriya and for the entire cast. 

The movie team has released a test shoot this July on the occasion of Suriya's birthday. In the video, the actor was seen getting trained with the bulls. 

The upcoming period drama 'Kaathal: The Core' will be directed by Jeo Baby, who rose to fame through 'The Great Indian Kitchen'.
